The Napier District Masonic Trust is proud to have assisted the aged in our community for the past 60 years and will continue to plan and provide housing and care for our elderly in the coming years.

We have an excellent reputation for providing quality residential aged care and affordable retirement village accommodation. About This Role

We are looking for an experienced gardener to join our team and help maintain the gardens and grounds at our facilities and retirement villages to a highly presentable and safe standard. 

This is a full-time position based out of TaradaleYou will work closely with our small, dedicated gardening team and tend to gardens across both our facilities and within our retirement villages in the NapierTaradale region.

About You: 

You will be a qualified or suitable experienced gardener, preferably with experience maintaining commercial or larger scale gardens. You are comfortable and confident working independently or as part of the team. Previous experience with ride on lawn mowers would be an advantage, but most important is passion and a can-do attitude.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Can execute approved garden design plans to a high standard.
  • Experience with mowing and maintaining lawns. 
  • Has proven experience with regular garden maintenance activities, ensuring gardens remain attractive and well-presented at all times.
  • Works well as an effective, positive member of a team but can also self-manage own workload as required.
  • Takes pride in providing superior customer service and has patience and empathy with our elderly residents.
  • Remains calm under pressure and works well within a team environment.
  • Has a proactive attitude towards health & safety, always ensuring the security and safety of residents, self, equipment and property.
  • Has a full, clean drivers licence.
